Against Breast Cancer is a registered charity that funds unique research into breast cancer. Their aim is to find vital information to increase survival after diagnosis and ultimately to discover a vaccine against breast cancer. Naturally every penny possible is needed to fund this work so we were delighted to be able to help the charity reduce their landline costs.
‘Ridgeway have helped us to make significant savings to our telecom costs’ said Against Breast Cancer’s IT Manager, Bernard Galewski. ‘We have a great working relationship and they are very proactive with their customer service which allows me to focus on my core activities’ he added.
This pioneering charity has even launched it’s own Splash of Pink iPhone App, the first of its kind to be created for a charity fundraising event. The App will showcase the ‘Splash of Pink Fashion Show and Couture Tea’ taking place at The Prebendal, the home of Bee Gee Robin Gibb and his wife Dwina Murphy-Gibb in Thame, Oxfordshire on 25th September. Gordon Vallance, Director of Against Breast Cancer said, ‘This is a ground-breaking achievement for the charity and just one of the many ways we are using social media to share information about our valuable research’.
The haute couture fashion show will feature designers supplied by Matches Fashion, London, as well as Paul Costelloe and Pringles. The day will be topped off with live music by Robin Gibb.
Celebrity names from the world of sport, broadcasting and fashion are attending the event including Jimmy Choo, Julie Cowell, Honorary President of the charity and mum to Simon, broadcaster Ben Shephard, entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne, X Factor winner Shayne Ward, celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford, model Olivia Inge and international make up artist Attracta Courtney.
If a Fashion Show isn’t for you then why not donate your old mobiles and print cartridges to the charity? We now have a recycling box in our showroom and will be happy to take any equipment you wish to bring in. In the UK alone over 2 million printer cartridges are disposed of in landfill sites and 15 million unwanted mobiles are similarly discarded, so why not help us to turn them into a valuable donation for Breast Cancer research?
